- Gain an appreciation for the history, evaluation, and international diversity of the art of cosmetology and science
- Develop an intense sense of professionalism necessary for working successfully in the industry
The school's primary mission is to develop a person who will succeed in the field of cosmetology. Mr. Bernard's School of Hair Fashion is determined to instill the necessity for professionalism in each of its students. The school continuously strives to keep abreast of new trends that affect the cosmetology field.
The field of Cosmetology is very broad in what it entails. In light of the fact that it is relatively impossible to specialize in all aspects of the profession, they have designed a means by which the students will be able to express a preference in any of the various specialties. The program is unique in that it provides each student with an opportunity to direct his/her effort toward a more specific goal.
Prospective students must be at least 17 years old, hold a high school diploma or G.E.D., be free of contagious disease, be physically capable, and possess good moral character.
Graduates can hold positions such as hair stylist, hair coloring technician, permanent waving technician, scalp and hair specialist, facial expert, makeup artist, manicurist, nail technician, shop manager, and shop owner. They can also enter in regional, national, and international competitions.
