Eastern Maine Community College offers one- and two-year programs of study leading to an Associate of Applied Science Degree, an Associate in Science Degree, diploma or certificate and a two-year program leading to an Associate in Arts in General Studies. Shorter term courses are offered through the Continuing Education Division.
Eastern Maine Community College is committed to graduating technicians with competence in three areas: 1 - technical skills (theoretical and practical), 2 - learning skills (math, science, communications), 3 - life skills (humanities). Courses are developed in cooperation with persons currently working in the field. Our success has led to consistent placement records of over 90%.
Twenty-seven programs of study are offered in the areas of allied health, business, mechanical and construction and engineering technologies. Campus housing is available for 145 students and recreational sports and social activities are regularly offered.
The Continuing Education Division offers technical training, retraining, and skill upgrading for occupational opportunity. Associate of Science Degree programs are offered in Business Management, Fire Science Technology, Early Childhood Education and Paraeducation. Diploma programs are also offered in Welding Technology and Electrician Licensing. Non-credit technical courses are offered in computer science, building construction, refrigeration/air conditioning, machine tool, electronics, heating, emergency medical technology, allied health, and other technical fields.
