Kennebec Valley Community College, a public institution, is one of the seven colleges that comprise the Maine Community College System. The College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. KVCC offers a supportive learning environment. Small class sizes are the rule rather than the exception. The faculty, the Learning Center and the Advising Center are among the resources available to students. Kennebec Valley Community College offers Associate Degree Programs in Liberal Studies, Applied Electronics and Computer Technology, Administrative Office Technology (Executive, Medical, Legal), Business Administration (Marketing/Management, Accounting), Biological Sciences, Computer Applications Technology, Education Program (Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Speech/Language), General Technology, Health Information Technology, Industrial Electrical/Electronics Technology, Medical Assisting, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Precision Machining Technology, Pulp and Paper Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology (upgrade), Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Trade and Technical Occupations, and Workplace Technology. Diploma Programs are offered in Electrical Lineworker Technology, Paramedicine, Industrial Electrical/Electronics Technology. Certificate Programs are offered in Clerical Assistant, Medical Transcription, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Computer Applications Technology, Medical Coding, Industrial Electrical/Electronics Technology (Fluid Power), Industrial Maintenance Technology, Precision Machining Technology, Workplace Technology, Mental Health Rehabilitation/Community, and Radiologic Technology.
Kennebec Valley Community College's academic schedule runs from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Individuals desiring late afternoon courses, evening courses and/or flexible scheduling should contact the Continuing Education Office. Tutoring in most subjects is available and is free of charge.
KVCC's Continuing Education Division offers a wide range of non-credit courses for the community as well as customized training for Business & Industry.
