Academic excellence in a magnificent setting is the perfect phrase to describe the Saint Joseph's College of Maine experience. Saint Joseph's, Maine's only Catholic college, is a private, co-educational, liberal arts institution located on the shores of Sebago Lake in Standish, about 18 miles from Portland. The beautiful 350-acre campus attracts approximately 1000 students who represent 15 states and several foreign countries. Popular programs include nursing, business, elementary and secondary education, biology, criminal justice, history, communications, psychology and physical education. The College also has strong pre-professional programs in fields such as pharmacy, engineering, and medicine.
The Division of Graduate and Professional Studies enrolls more than 2,000 students from all over the world and has graduated more than 6,500 students since its inception in 1976.

Saint Joseph's is a NCAA Division III institution that boasts a strong tradition of athletic success. The College sponsors the following teams: Men - Basketball, Golf, Baseball, Cross Country, Soccer, Swimming, Lacrosse; Women - Basketball, Field Hockey, Cross Country, Softball, Volleyball, Soccer, Swimming, Lacrosse.
The Division of Graduate and Professional Studies offers a number of degree programs for adults. Students engage in independent course study from home or other desired locations on their own schedules. They may work towards a bachelor or master's degree or take individual courses. Saint Joseph's College faculty and advisors guide, encourage, and monitor students as they complete their coursework (offered by correspondence and on-line). Students may choose from a number of academic fields: Health Care, Education, Business, Criminal Justice, Liberal Studies, Nursing: Master's in Nursing (MS); Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - all programs are available through independent study and summer residencies.
