The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) has a total enrollment of 1,367 students. Students are attracted to UMPI for a number of reasons, the most important being the variety of academic programs and the personalized attention that is given by faculty and staff. Other reasons for choosing UMPI are the location, facilities, campus activities, and athletics.

UM-Presque Isle offers Bachelor of Science degrees in athletic training, elementary education, secondary education, environmental studies, physical education (teaching & non-teaching), and recreation/leisure services. Bachelor of Arts degrees are offered in accounting, art, fine arts, biology, business management, criminal justice, English, international studies, liberal studies, psychology and art education. UMPI also offers a Bachelor of Social Work and Associate of Arts degrees in applied art, criminal justice, liberal studies, and recreation/leisure services; and an Associate of Science degree in medical laboratory technology. Our Transfer Programs include agriculture, animal and veterinary science, food science and human nutrition, forest management, nursing, and wildlife management.

The University of Maine at Presque Isle offers academic programs and services at its Houlton Center, which serves locations in southern and central Aroostook County. Courses are offered both live and via fully interactive television, the latter allowing two-way video and audio communication between instructor and students. Additionally, courses scheduled by University College are available on the Presque Isle campus as well as the Houlton Center.

In cooperation with business and community service agencies, non-credit, general interest classes and special programs can be arranged.
